In 1983 artist Lorraine O’Grady produced a conceptual photography piece called “Art Is…” Her work reshaped the perception of Harlem and its residents, simply by showing their reality within a new frame. Inspired by O’Grady, the Biden and Harris presidential campaign conceived “America The Beautiful” Filmmakers from across the nation contributed hundreds of portraits of people in their neighborhoods & communities whom collectively represent the face of America and it’s future for all.
